  Couldn't recommend more for car insurance.

  As someone who recently obtained my license and brought my first car the clear next step was to get some insurance...after a quick google search which outlined my options, a quick check gave me a rough idea of price of those but Budget Direct were not only one of the top rated at the time of my researching but one of the best value, they were the only ones who made me feel at ease dealing with them from that first phone call about an enquiry and quote after that I went ahead and purchased my car insurance from them, they explained everything to me, made sure that I understood and was conformable throughout, laid out my options and sent through information and copy's straight to my email, that they had me check I had received before ending the call. It was quick and easy even for a first timer and they made me feel safe buying from them, since then, I have received regular updates and no hidden changes or chargers to my policy. There website is also very easy to navigate and use. I guess as with all insurance companies it will always be expensive to have everything you want and there is always going to be a lot of information to read, comb through and compare and this one is no different but if your after car insurance is simple, straight forward, easy to use online and great customer service even for those really easy questions you can want to make sure of so far I couldn't recommend Budget Direct enough.

  dont trust there word

  was stuck with my children 4hrs from home and they wouldnt help me with hire car they told me i had to pay tow truck fees i had to find my oiwn accomadation and i had to pay for everything wont trust them again and they wont refund my money

  Disappointed and disgusting service lack of suppor

  On Christmas Day a elderly woman reversed into my brand new Ducati pangale it was parked in clear site of her car upond discussing exchange her identification and she admitted liability contacted budget direct explanation given it was a train wreck as far as communication saying have to quote the damage did not comprehend they had to see fast forward today upon contacting them with no reply I went out of no confidence from my insurance company and collected my damaged bike they inform me it is under review admitting the third party accepted liability they gave me no confidence or reassurance they would repair my brand new Ducati having multiple policy’s with them I told them I had no confidence and considering cancelling my policies to which they responded I will transfer the call easy way out for I am full comprehensive insured having discuss with my wife she also had no confidence in them concerning our other cars the attitude the lack of customer service the non communication telling me it’s under review I suppose until we need insurance they show there real concern lack of and only hope you never make a claim worst experience of my life I thought it was straight forward and should of been my brand new 2024 Ducati panagale now sits damaged in my garage awaiting for them to shirk there responsibilitys I will be changing my other policy’s because I I have no confidence or trust in this insurance company I had pictures and information regarding this accident and they are playing games asking me do I want to cancel the claim disgusting customer lack of service and zero confidence and trust buyer beware I should of read the reviews they were happy to take my multiple policy’s now iam a cost and repair that they are stringing out Never ever again will I buy a policy from this company no trust confidence customer service and no empathy for the customer

  Budget Direct are NO good!

  Lodging the claim was fine but it took two weeks for my car to be towed from the holding yard, four weeks until they called me with an update and seven weeks until my claim was finalized and that was only after it was escalated to the complaints department. Never again.

  Run for the hills from the company.

  Do not go anywhere near this company for insurance. My renewal for my car has come through and they have just rejected my renewal based off my claims history. In over 25 years of driving I have never had a claim and this year after my car got stolen out the front of my home by a third party, after the key was accidentally left in car, while going through the birth of my son and moving home, I made a claim, which they reject based on leaving the key in the car, after a long and painful process where I felt like the criminal and over a very stressful period of 6 months, they paid me $3,000 for my troubles with a car that should have been written off. I tried to fight it with the complaints tribunal but as they have this small print buried in the wording I lost the battle. I’m now driving around in a car that needed to be fixed which I have more paid more then $10,000 to make road worthy but can’t afford a total repair and now at renewal they have the hid to reject my renewal based on my claims history. I could understand if it was for the car itself they decided not to insurer but in their comments they make it clear it’s due to my claims history. Again I have never had a claim that’s my fault and one claim where my car got stolen which they paid a tenth of the cost and now they have advising me they are not renewing based on my claim history. This is the most ridiculous thing I have heard and never seen such poor service this company offers. There is a reason they are called budget and whom every is rating this company as best insurer needs to be looked into. Do yourself a favour and look at other insurance companies that have a bit of compassion and don’t run for the hills as soon as you need them.

  Cheap insurance with long pushback during claims.

  Was a Budget Direct customer for years till i was in a not at fault accident where they wrote off my car. The ongoing hoops they made me jump through to get a fair & current payout to actually buy another car was painful, they were no help with getting an unlimited rental car (the fine print for their suggested car ran out in 5 weeks!) & it was only through the help of the towing company driver i got a fair unlimited rentail car during thr process. Buy cheap car insurance you will be be burnt with a painful & long process at the most crucial time.

  9+ hours of unresolved issues

  Insurance has gone up more than $30 over 2 years on a car that’s depreciating, maybe that’s normal. However when I was well and truly over this it took me a whole working day, to get no where. The online chat tool is so frustrating to use and I had to continually check in over the day. I’m serious, around 8 hours to go through questions. In that time they offered to lower the last fortnight of my existing policy, but then proceeded to tell me my next term would still go up by $20. This was with removing someone from the policy who had an accident claim. Worst of all the new price was still not locked in. I’ve had to return for about 1 hour 45 mins again to get it sorted. 1 hour of that was taken to explain that the cheap rate offered in the first contact was for 2 weeks only. Still I can’t get a call, I must use a messaging service. The market value they are insuring me at is $4,000 less than Everyday insurance. I’ve not made a claim yet as the process was too difficult and far too expensive with the excess I had. But because I had started that process they would not stop calling, emailing and texting to try get that excess out of me. I know in the past I’ve asked for a deal on multiple cars being insured through them, was given a flat no. However I’ve since been offered one for complaining for so long, there’s always room and for a customer who has had no claims ever, you would want to feel looked after. They appear to be cheap but it shows when you actually need it. So painful to deal with in every interaction. I’ll pay more not to if need be.

  Disgusting unprofessional business practice

  Budget called me 3 times and said my car was a writeoff , it is a repairable writeoff on a revs check. The lock was damaged on the driver door. To replace my car will cost 12000. They offered me 6000 , towed my car and still havent been paid after 5 weeks. No offer of a rental car. Liars and despicable behaviour. Do not use this unreputable company.

  Don't have words for how awful Budget Direct is.

  Wish I could give ZERO stars! My car that was stationery at a giveway sign, was hit by another vehicle. Budget Direct claimed I was at fault ... when I WAS NOT moving. They did not ask me for any additional information besides what I put in my claim. Their reasoning was because I needed to be 100% in the right for them to not take fault, I could not be even 1% in the wrong. However in my case, Budget Direct does not understand basic road rules including how to turn a corner correctly WITHOUT HITTING ANOTHER CAR. The person who hit me got away with it, and ME who had INSURANCE and PAYS BUDGET DIRECT TO BE MY INSURANCE COMPANY, didn't have to pay a cent.
